Looking for a specific topic?
Some days, your practice is intense with loads of sun salutations and arm balances. Other days, your practice might be rolling around on your back and chilling in child’s pose for the entire time. That is okay. Let your mind’s constraints of what practice looks like go. Listen to your body. Find your inner teacher. Be receptive to what you need in the moment.
When inspiration and excitement are lacking in my practice, chores, work and activities, it is as if the Universe nudges me to say, "it is time to invite more curiosity and wonder into your life."
When you seek the approval of another, you can never be satiated. You will not feel complete or whole. If you seek outside of yourself for love, support or approval - you will be left thirsty and hungry on the barren days lacking outside praise.
Yoga shined a light on my lies, my destruction, my path. I wasn’t always willing to go to that place of vulnerable truth. So, I skipped class. Then I would return. And after one particularly phenomenal class that smacked me in the face and said, “What do you really want?! Is this it for you? Seriously?” I knew I had to make a choice: Stay the same or practice yoga.
The shoulder is one of the most mobile joints. Which means it is less stable and open to a greater risk of injury. The good news is: the stabilizers of the shoulder can all be strengthened to keep the shoulder supported and healthy. Cultivating awareness and intimacy with the shoulders are the first steps in strengthening and protecting!
Rolling up is a missed opportunity to build posterior and core strength as well as skeletal stability and body awareness.
When I made the choice to stop living in fear and live more freely and love more openly, I had to stop living life with an insurance plan. I could no longer love with an emergency escape plan. I chose to give 100% of my love, commitment, and dedication to myself, my husband, our relationship, my life and our lives together.
Whenever we fall into habit, our vision is narrowed and our senses are dulled - because we are expecting and anticipating the same responses, even if it is just subconsciously. When we expect a response, we are living in the past or in a memory, thus missing the beauty of the present reality.
...And when I can remember that I contain happiness, peace and Love inside of me, I am completely Whole and Free. And then I am able and free to see the same capacity in others and generously share myself with them.
