The 8 Limbs of Yoga
Our path, no matter where it leads or what it looks like, will always contain challenges. There will be problems and obstacles that need to be overcome, readjusted, and reinvented. The tools of the 8 Limbs will help lighten the load of negativity and doubt that might pull us out of our innate peaceful selves. These tools empower us to make choices along our paths. These tools lead us back to harmony with ourselves and our true purpose. They remind us of our essence. Even as the physical body ages, ails, and naturally deteriorates, the 8 Limbs hold the potential to help you live a healthy, happy, and harmonious life.
These tools are practical and applicable. As ancient as they may be, we will look at them from our current state, bringing the teachings as necessary into a more modern light without ever compromising the integrity and purity of the teachings from the Yoga Sutras, which is where the path was first documented.
An important note about the 8 Limbs of Yoga: there are two perspectives of the path. One is that we are Yoga, naturally and that Yoga is our spontaneous and innate state of being. The second perspective is the active embodiment of Yoga in effort and practice. Both perspectives will be explored, but see if you can find them passively emerging from within you. The Limbs are not necessary practiced in order - you will discover they are not independent and constantly dancing with one another in spontaneity and practice.
